Through my photography journey I leart how to love light.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you will find all the information you need.
Hi, my name is Giorgio and I'm a lighter, a photographer and a mentor.
With almost 10 years of experience in production, I worked on both full feature feature movie and tv shows.
Even before that, I've been an avid film photographer for almost two decades now.
Thanks to my photography journey I learned to love light, how it affects our mood and how it shapes elements in frame and how to use it to help storytelling.
I have developed a deep knowledge of how light works in the real world first and then applied this knowledge to my job in the CG world.
Because of that I have a very pragmatic approach in the way I light my scenes, always referring to real life, always developing rigs with a "like on a real set" mindset,
copying real life lighting setup wehenever possibile.
I also compliment my knowledge of lighting with an extensive understanding of colour theory and design from my previuos studies at VFS.
Thanks to my classical studies and love for cinematography I have a solid repertoire of references from both cinema classics and paintings
to pull from when needed to quickly adapt to any of the show needs.
Over the years I've worked very closely with directors and client to help them to achieve their vision efficiently.
Nowadays I work as lighting lead, helping young artists to grow, teaching them cinematic lighting and helping them when needed.
We had junior tackling one-offs and even sequence lighting from scratch and my role was to guide them in setting up rigs that were both technically efficients and that would also satisfy director's artistic vision.
Because of these new managerial tasks I've been taking on I've also learned the value of working as a team and be a supportive model for artists.
Now seeking to contribute with my skills, enthusiasm and expertise to the growth of the entertainment industry.
